A Note for New Readers

Urukundo Village is an independent home for Rwandan children created and funded through Hope Made Real and its incredibly kind donors. We are not funded by any particular denomination or organization and welcome all who seek to help the children of Rwanda and create a better world not just for a child, but for us all.

How Much Impact Does my Donation Really Have?

Hope Made Real distributes funds to a variety of projects and individuals, including the Urukundo Home for Children, the Cyeza Sector Support project, community construction projects, and the provision of livestock and beehives to the Avega organization. While Hope Made Real will make every effort to distribute donated funds as requested, Hope Made Real retains ultimate authority in deciding how to use any contributions to further its purpose of assisting the poor, homeless, orphaned or other displaced persons in Rwanda.

Here’s a list of some of the costs to give you a sense how little it takes to make a difference in a child’s life in Rwanda.

  • $600 a year is all it costs to care for one child with all expenses included.
  • Our Urukundo Education Sponsor Program currently sponsors 230 children at $15 each a year.
  • Secondary school is $700 per year, including room and board. (All secondary schools in Rwanda are boarding schools.)
  • University or Technical school is $3,000 per year. This amount includes the room and board.
